Privacy Notice
1. Introduction
Cayman Fury Netball Club (the “Club”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This privacy notice describes how the Club collect and use personal information about you during and after your involvement with the Club.
It is important that you read this notice when the Club is collecting or processing personal information about you or your child so that you are aware of how and why the Club uses this information.
The accuracy of your personal information is important to the Club. Please keep the Club informed if your personal information changes during your on-going involvement with the Club.
2. Data controller
Cayman Fury Netball Club is a “data controller”. This means that the Club is responsible for deciding how your personal information and in case of minors, that of your child(ren) is held and used by us. We are required under the Data Protection Act (As Revised) (the “Law”) to notify you of the information contained within this privacy notice.
3. Data protection principles
The Club is required to comply with the Law, which states that the personal information collected and held must be:
- Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way.
- Collected only for valid purposes which the Club has clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes or contrary to the Law.
- Relevant to the purposes that the Club has informed you about and limited only to those purposes.
- Accurate and kept up to date.
- Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes that the Club has informed you.
- Kept securely.
4. Information we may hold about you and your child
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified, i.e. personally identifiable information.
The information gathered by the Club helps it to manage and administer its operations, and may include your name and contact information, the name of your child along with their school, grade/year, gender, health insurance details, date of birth and emergency contact information. The Club also records information that becomes part of the personal data we hold about you, such as information about your usage of the Club, performance and position notes, photographs and videos.
The Club will not, as a rule, collect or store sensitive personal information, such as information about your child’s health, unless it is volunteered by a parent or guardian and is required for your child’s participation during Club events. The Club will use this information exclusively for the purpose of netball safety and in providing this information to us you are consenting to its use for this purpose. All Club members are required to provide proof of existing ongoing medical insurance, which must be updated in the event of any changes.
5. How is your personal information collected?
Personal information is expected to be collected via our website www.netball.ky upon enrollment and through your email communications with the Club.
6. How we will use information about you and your child
The Club will only use your personal information when the law allows us to do so and will only use it for the purposes for which said information has been collected. If the Club needs to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, you will be contacted to provide your consent. Please note that the Club may process your personal information without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.
7. Data retention
The Club will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes that it has been collected for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, audit or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, the Club will consider the amount of time, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use and the applicable legal requirements.
In some circumstances the Club may anonymise your personal information so it can no longer be associated with you, in which case the Club may use such information without further notice to you.
8. Your rights
You as an individual have various rights under the Law, including the right to access your personal data and in some cases to ask for it to be erased or amended or for the Club to stop processing it (subject to certain exemptions and limitations). Any individual wishing to access or amend their personal data or wishing it to be transferred to another person or organisation, or who has some other objection to how their personal data is used, should write to the Data Protection Officer.
